Parts of character creation are fairly straightforward for any D&D-styled RPG. Larian has said that custom characters are 'central to the arc' of Baldur's Gate 3, so having some good customization options for them, and seeing the world react to those decisions, will go a long way. In Divinity: Original Sin 2, the origins characters were often the way to go-they got additional dialogue and story, and were overall a more involved experience. Like other Larian games, there is the option to play as either a custom character or an 'origins' character, which is a prebuilt persona who can also potentially join the party.
In a new Community Update posted today, developer Larian Studios goes into detail on how players can craft their own protagonist. The role-playing game will have a character creator, of course, but the number of options is looking pretty deep for an Early Access title. Is there something you think we should be reporting on? Email less than a week away from the Early Access launch of Baldur's Gate 3.
